These past few weeks we’ve seen a lot of anticipated movies having their debut trailer a huge success with the audience. But Hollywood never sleeps and it would seem that the case is the same with Marvel and DC fans regarding the next two movies. Of course, we’re talking about Avengers: Endgame and Shazam, but who else make the list of the most anticipated movies for April this year?
1. Avengers: Endgame
Avengers: Endgame is the last movie of the highly successful Marvel franchise that will have its big opening on the 26th of April this year. As a matter of fact, DC’s recent failures have given Marvel a lot of space to grow, even if some of the Avengers movies and superhero standalone were pretty bad. But that doesn’t matter right now as everyone is pumped for Avengers: Endgame. Everyone is desperate to see what the remaining Avengers can do and how will they defeat Thanos (not Ant-Man and the whole buttocks theory). But no matter how they decide to do it, Marvel has been building this movie for a whole eleven years, and 21 movies later, we have it.
Shazam! will have its opening just a few days from now on April the 5th. But before we see Tony Stark and Steve Rodgers shake hanks, Shazam will have a thing or two to say. The fresh superhero Shazam has been compared to more of a comedy action flick than most dark-themed DC superhero movies. It’s certainly a breath of fresh air seeing how poorly the last couple of DC films were. But, one thing is certain; we simply cannot wait for Shazam to have its debut on the big screen.
Opening on the 12th of April, Hellboy is certainly not as expected as Avengers: Endgame and Shazam! But none the less, Hellboy gets the number three spot, and for a fair few reasons as well. The movie reboot stars Stranger Thing’s very own David Harbour as our famous red-faced hero. The character himself has quite the fanbase, and we can imagine why it would rank lower than Endgame and Shazam, but higher than the rest.
4. Pet Sematary
Stephen King’s third movie from the novel that shares the same name, Pet Sematary is a reboot, or a remake, or a reinterpretation… we don’t quite know. However, what we do know is that Pet Sematary is a horror film that will have its premiere on the 5th of April, same as Shazam. However, this movie has some interesting pre-reviews and the talk amongst movie fanatics is that this movie will not fail as most horrors do.
5. The Curse of La Llorona
Debut scheduled on the 19th of April, The Cure of La Llorona is yet another horror film that has managed to crawl on our top 5 for April. However, there isn’t any solid interest in this movie, unlike the previously higher ranked ones on this list. If Hellboy has some hype, and Pet Sematary has even less of it, we’re not sure how anticipated this movie is. BUT, we are more than happy to be wrong and WE cannot wait to watch it if the general public isn’t.
